Parkinson’s and mobility seminar set Wednesday

Dr. Torres-Yagghi, neurologist who specializes in movement disorders, will speak at the John Barton Payne Community Hall in Warrenton on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
A free presentation on “Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders” will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Warrenton.

Dr. Yasar Torres-Yaghi will speak at the John Barton Payne Community Hall at 2 Courthouse Square.

A neurologist who specializes in movement disorders, Dr. Torres-Yagghi also teaches as an assistant professor at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The Parkinson’s Piedmont Support Group organized the event, which will include light refreshments.

Dr. Torres-Yagghi last September spoke on the same topics at the community center. The event drew about 100 people, according to Warrenton physical therapist Kendal Blaser, who helped establish the support group.

For more information, call Ms. Blaser at 540-222-6000.

I attended this seminar last year and highly recommend attending to anyone with Parkinson's or is a caregiver to someone with Parkinson's. Dr. Torres-Yagghi is excellent and very approachable. Thank you to the Parkinson's Piedmont Support Group for bringing him back and also for your monthly meetings. You are an invaluable asset to our community.
