BOB visits the Marshall Community Center in June 2019.
Virginia First Lady Pamela Northam will visit Warrenton on Wednesday, July 21, to help celebrate the opening of BOB’s place, a permanent home for Books on the Bus.

A mobile program to foster summer learning and reading among Fauquier children, BOB launched three years ago.

Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health (FRESH) will partner with Fauquier FISH and the PATH Foundation to host a community picnic celebrating the opening of BOB’s Place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 21 at Brumfield Elementary School.

The free public event will feature food, fun activities and a new Storywalk trail, sharing BOB’s story and highlighting a new children’s book each quarter.

The results from a collaboration between FRESH and PATH’s summer interns.

“From its inception, Books on the Bus has been about bringing our community together,” said Kristen McAuliffe FRESH supervisor. “Collaborating with the PATH interns this summer in the creation of BOB’s Place has been an amazing experience, and the upcoming celebration and dedication of BOB’s Place is the perfect way to bookmark BOB’s travels and provide a place where families can gather, read and play.”
