The Remington fireman’s carnival, the station’s largest fundraiser of the year, features about 15 rides, food, a raffle and music.
The Remington Vol. Fire and Rescue Department will celebrate its 76th year of service with the annual fireman’s carnival fundraiser Wednesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 2.

Opening at 6 p.m. each night, the carnival features approximately 15 different rides, hamburgers, hotdogs and other food items, a raffle and music.

A grand parade through Remington begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, starting on East Main Street.

The carnival will take place at the fairgrounds on Remington Pool Road behind M.M. Pierce Elementary.

At one time, fire stations all over Fauquier County — from Goldvein to Catlett and Marshall — had carnivals to raise funds for station operations.

As the last remaining fireman’s carnival in Fauquier County, this serves as the Remington volunteer station’s largest fundraising event of the year.

“Come out and help us so we can help you when the time comes,” said Remington Vol. Fire and Rescue President Steve Wright.

Unlimited carnival rides wristbands for sale every night — $20 per person.

The raffle will include a $1,500 grand prize drawing on Saturday at 10 p.m.

The carnival will remain open until 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
