Come As You Are, a nonprofit dedicated to addiction prevention and recovery, will host its sixth annual Run for Your Life 5K on Saturday, Sept. 18.
Chris Herren, a former professional basketball player and founder of Herren Wellness, will serve as the “Message of Hope” speaker.
The gates at Verdun Adventure Bound near Rixeyville will open at 7:30 a.m. Check-in will run until 8:45 a.m., with races starting at 9 a.m.
Registrants are encouraged to bring a photo of someone who is battling an addiction disorder or one who has lost that battle for the Tribute Wall.
Food, music and an awards presentation will follow the race.
A COVID check-in station will be required for all runners/walkers. Participants will have 15 minutes to begin the event to encourage social distancing.
CAYA will accept only cash or checks only for race-day registration.
The cost is $35 per participant. Click here to register in advance.
CAYA seeks to connect people who impacted by addiction with support and treatment resources, and to collaborate with community organizations to support local prevention programs in Culpeper and Fauquier counties.
