School reopening survey deadlined pushed to Oct. 9

Fauquier public schools will start “hybrid instruction” on Monday, Nov. 9, allowing students to attend in-person classes two days a week. Families also may elect to continue all-virtual instruction.
Fauquier County Public Schools has extended the reopening survey deadline through Friday, Oct. 9.

The survey asks families to select their preferred instructional model and transportation needs for the Nov. 9 reopening.

“FCPS highly encourages all families to complete the survey for each of their children,” spokeswoman Tara Helkowski wrote in a press release.

“Selections will remain in effect until the start of the second term in January,” Ms. Helkowski wrote. “Families who have already submitted the survey but would like to change their selection should contact their child’s school to make the change. The school’s registrar can override the original submission.”

The school system will host a webinar at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, to answer previously submitted questions regarding the new reopening plan. The webinar will be livestreamed and recorded.

The link to access the webinar will be posted on the school system website.

The live stream and recording will be available at

To continue to bring some education to the children of key laborers, and too susceptible children, school centers opened with staff offering in significant numbers to support this function. Other teachers took on the part of providing isolated teaching and learning, whereas working from home as part of the national lockdown. So, I am an Academic Writer and I am working for Uk leading best nursing essay company and we also delivered all academic services available at 40% off.

Every household in this county should have the right to provide input in whether the county schools should open 5 days a week or go to hybrid option. We are all vested in our children and how are taxes are being invested. Every household should communicate to the school board. And surveys should be available to all tax payers.

DF - School choice and vouchers used to be common in Virginia, but that all got ruined when white parents who wanted to avoid desegregated schools in the 50s and 60s created de-facto segregation through private schools and the voucher system.

Even today if you look at the demographics for our county's private schools, if we allowed public funds to be reapportioned to those schools we would be violating court orders from the 60s or 70s which ensured that public funds would no longer support a segregated system.

Why do a survey? They haven't listened to the parents wishes on the other 3 surveys.

I have a better idea. School choice and vouchers. Parents can choose where to put their kids. Problem solved.
