Sheriff’s office seeks help solving restaurant burglary

Employees of The Front Porch in The Plains reported the crimes early Wednesday morning.
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office seeks help in solving the burglary of a restaurant in The Plains.

Someone broke a door window Tuesday night or early Wednesday to enter The Front Porch at 6483 Main St. and take “an unspecified amount of money” from the cash register, Sgt. James Hartman said.

Employees reported the break-in at 6:43 a.m. Wednesday.

“Detectives are reviewing video footage from the business,” Sgt. Hartman said. “A canvass of area businesses revealed no other burglaries. There are no suspects at this time.”

He asked that anyone with information about the crime call the sheriff’s office at 540-347-3300. A caller’s identity may remain anonymous.
