Warrenton lawyer writes guide to family law in Va.

Virginia Continuing Legal Education, a nonprofit division of the Virginia Law Foundation, has just published Virginia Family Law: A Systematic Approach by Warrenton lawyer Julia Savage.
Available in print and online, the 1,000-page publication covers divorce, annulment, pretrial diversion by the court, spousal support, child support, property, child custody and visitation, domestic violence and other topics.
Originally written in 1998, the two volumes subsequently went through several revisions by Richard D. Balnave, a professor emeritus of law at University of Virginia School of Law. Ms. Savage created the updates with the most current law and newest statutory developments.
The publication includes more than 200 usable forms.
A partner with Walker Jones in Warrenton and Washington, Ms. Savage has practiced family law for almost 40 years. She earned a law degree from St. Bonaventure University and graduated from the New England School of Law in Boston.
