Warrenton teen earns spot in Washington Opera class

Mikey Goltry, 16, of Warrenton.
Mikey Goltry 16, of Warrenton, has earned acceptance into The Washington National Opera’s Summer Opera Institute.

A tenor, Mikey works with Allegro Community School of the Arts Vocal Instructor Bob Swift and Career Counselor Cecilia Dohm. He received the opportunity to audition for the competitive summer program at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The applicants included the best high school vocalists from the U.S. and beyond.

Mickey received a scholarship to the three-week summer program that brings passionate, dedicated young musicians together in the nation’s capital to experience opera in a professional and nurturing environment that the world-class opera company provides. Selected aspiring classical singers study the Washington National Opera Institute’s intense and focused curriculum, which prepares students for college performance programs and beyond. A culminating performance will take place in June on The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.

Congratulations Mikey. I had a friend George, who was also in opera classes. He was very fond of visiting these classes. He even looked for an opera-related work later. The opera class helped him a lot in this, only he had problems with SV. He had to look for the best cv writing services reviews on site to find help with his resume. By the way, he found his first part-time job in a cabaret very quickly. He was very pleased with the opera classes and his first work.
