Give Local Piedmont set for May 3

By FauquierNow
The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation, in partnership with the PATH Foundation, is holding its ninth annual, online “Give Local Piedmont” fundraising event May 3 and encouraging donors to give before, during and after.

Give Local Piedmont is a 24-hour online charity event that raises money for nonprofits across the region, including Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison and Rappahannock counties.

According to the event website, the event has raised more than $7 million in the last eight years.

For every dollar donated from midnight to 11:59 a.m. on the first Tuesday of May, all participating organizations will receive a portion of the PATH Foundation bonus ($100,000), and all participants have an opportunity to win one of many available prizes.

There is a transaction fee of 2% that will be deducted from the donations received by each nonprofit. Organizations receiving $1,000 or more in total donations will also be charged a 2% administrative fee. The 2% admin fee will support marketing and advertising materials for Give Local Piedmont and will remain in the Give Local Piedmont budget.
