Inmate hospitalized after incident at Fauquier Adult Detention Center

An inmate at the Fauquier Adult Detention Center attempted suicide Monday afternoon, Lt. Col. Stephen Brubaker with Fauquier County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

At approximately 3 p.m. Monday, while conducting routine checks, detention center staff found the inmate and immediately began life-saving measures while rescue units responded, Brubaker said in the release.

The release stated a previous check was conducted approximately nine minutes earlier.

The inmate remained hospitalized Tuesday morning.
