Primary elections absentee voting opens April 26

Voters may cast absentee ballots at the registrar’s office in Warrenton or by mail.
Absentee voting for the June 11 primary elections starts statewide Friday, April 26.

Qualified Virginia voters may vote absentee in-person at their local voter registration office or vote absentee by mail.  Registered voters must meet one of the 20 eligibility requirements to vote absentee.

The Fauquier County registrar’s office is 528 Waterloo Road, Suite 200,
in Warrenton.

In Fauquier, the Republican Party will select its commissioner of revenue and sheriff’s candidates by primary. Democrats will select House of Delegates candidates.

The list of requirements can be found on the VirginiaAbsentee Ballot Application or at

“It is important for every eligible voter in the Commonwealth of Virginia to participate in our elections process,” said Department of Elections Commissioner Christopher E. Piper. “Absentee voting allows all qualified Virginia voters to take part in our democracy when they can’t make it to their polling place on Election Day.”

Virginia citizens who wish to vote absentee must be registered to cast ballots. Citizens can register to vote online or by submitting a completed voter registration application to their local voter registration office.

The last day to register or update your personal information to vote in the June 11 primary elections is Monday, May 20.  Registrations must be received or postmarked by that date.

Beginning Friday, in-person absentee voting is available at local voter registration offices Monday through Friday during regular office hours and on Saturday, June 8. Office hours and locations for in-person absentee voting are available online at

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 4.  Apply as early as possible to avoid delays in mail delivery.  Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by your voter registration office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.  Voters can request an absentee ballot online at

Virginia law requires voters to present an acceptable photo ID when voting in-person.  For a list of acceptable forms of photo identification or to find out how to obtain a free Virginia Voter Photo ID Card, visit Voters can also find information about the upcoming election and check their registration status on the site.

Hmmmm, you call me a racist cause of the democrat agenda to attempt to silence all the facets of illegal entry and laws broken.

If I am a racist, why am I supporting DJ Jordan? Or our blacks now no longer a minority. My initial remarks were about this candidate.

SaveFauquierCounty2019 - "Any leader should not be permitting employers to hire illegals. It is not only a crime, it's unethical and unfair to the honest businesses." No where have I heard about this very thing, just recently??

Oh, yeah, Donald Trump properties had been hiring illegals for YEARS to work on his properties at low wages (one even ironed his undershorts), then boot then out when they are done with them, or caught with them on the property. Devin Nunes' family in Iowa uses illegals to milk and care for their herd of cows for YEARS, but now they are running away because of the exposure.

Hypocrites. You, SFC2019, are a propagandist of the worth kind. You are also a racist. How did your Irish ancestors feel when they came to America and were treated like dirt bags? Irish need not apply, Irish not allowed, Irish are the flea-ridden filth of the get my drift.

You are an anonymous crank who will not so much as put their name behind their words, which makes sense because they are completely irresponsible.

No one needs to lie for their candidate to win elections. Worse still, this sort of guff, like guilt by distant association, cripples the candidates you are trying to help. No wonder Guzman beat Lingamfelter by ten points -- he had people like you on his side!

Still, you rave on, as you did the other day suggesting teachers don't realize their problem is illegal immigrants. Me? I think teachers are smart enough to articulate their interests properly, and they are not upset with immigrants who, ironically, *forfeit* billions to the US treasury (they cannot claim refunds of withheld taxes).

Or your nutty claim that Guzman should be discounted because she supports someone who supports someone else who might be considered antisemitic.

Let's play your game for a moment: Lots of people I support donated money to D.J. Jordan. By your logic, I therefore support D.J. Jordan, and as a result you have no quarrel with me. Does that work for you? I am on your side by association, right?

Now you claim Guzman is somehow permitting employers to hire illegals (any proof? Of course not!). How does she do that in her position? We are left to wonder.

Further, you claim she is anti-business, and yet a quick review shows not even one business has donated to her opponent's campaign and she has reaped a large number of donations from businesses large and small, the vast majority members and leaders of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Explanation for that? Not from you.

I am always skeptical of people claiming to "save" the rest of us, especially when they are unwilling to so much as identify themselves. Seems Russian to me, an attempt to divide and conquer.

Good work, Comrade! We will read "tweets" for the truth! It will set us free!

P.S. HRC is not on the ballot, and likely will never be on the ballot again (which works for me because I never voted for her). How is she relevant to the Guzman-Jordan race? Nevermind.

Fake news? Residents please research how Omar won't produce documents of marriages, divorce, siblings. Elizabeth Guzman is supporting these leaders. Leaders should not be pa rticipating in boycotts against Israel.
Research how HRC URanium deal to Russia was given to Iran who is making yellow cake. The attacks against Christians by radical Islamics should be condemned and called what it is.
Any leader should not be permitting employers to hire illegals. It is not only a crime, it's unethical and unfair to the honest businesses. This us why Guzman needs to be ousted out. She is anti business. REVIEW Virginia Chamber of Commerce data. Review these leaders tweets.

I know precisely what you wrote and meant and its fake news. That's the point: She did not marry her brother. That was the Wiki link -- to Ilhan Omar's webpage, not Guzman's page. Can you read, SFC19? Can you follow links? If you did, you wouldn't have written what you just wrote.

Which is also the point: You are trashing Guzman with falsehoods and feint associations. Your sentence construction was first grade: After writing about Guzman, you wrote Omar married her brother, leaving the object of the sentence Guzman's brother, which of course was unlikely to be true -- but not as unlikely as the fake claim Omar married her own brother, which the wikilink disproves.

Drunk? High? How's the view from the back seat, SFC?

Business supports Guzman. Prove otherwise. Every business dime of speech supports Guzman, but you falsely give her your own "F" for being antibusiness. You are full of fake news.

Prove anything you wrote, for that matter. It's disjointed and misses every point entirely.

Just who are you trying to "save" SFC, and from what?
Savefauquiercounty2019 · April 26, 2019 at 9:53 pm
Jim, go back to the first grade. Read. Omar married her brother. Are you drunk again? I never said Guzman. You must be high.
Read how Guzman supports these antisemitics such as Samariah, Omar etc.
Anyone that supports immigrants before American workers or illegals is anti business.

Jim Griffin · April 26, 2019 at 8:45 pm
Yes, some are associations. Their contributions represent lots more businesses, multiplying the support they represent. This contradicts your claim she is anti-business, proving with deeds not words that business supports her and thus far has offered none to her opponent.

Our Supreme Court says money is speech. FWIW, from what I've read (thanks for the prompting) Guzman's introduced a bill to ban those business contributions.

Yes, Wikipedia is a convenient place to review objective information like births, deaths, marriages, kids. Where do you prefer I look to see if as you say -- and it is an extraordinary claim you make that deserves serious scrutiny -- she married "her brother" (and we're not talking about Guzman's brother)? Do you deny the Wikipedia entry is accurate confirming she did not "marry her brother"?

Can you directly tie through words or deeds the object of your attack (Guzman) to the BDS movement? Did she say she supports BDS?

Many support BDS but are not in any way antisemitic -- and in fact, many are Jewish. They are concerned about democracy, about one person, one vote, about apartheid.

Is there evidence Guzman is anti-semitic? Words, actions, both? Neither? Anything stronger than she shares a political party or attendance at a function with someone else who is?
Savefauquiercounty2019 · April 26, 2019 at 7:59 pm
Jim, I stated to review their tweets, you decide what they are actually doing. Wikipedia? Really?
All the businesses that donated to Guzman`s last campaign have been well established. Interesting, Verizon has a history as well as Comcast and Amazon of ripping the nation off in regards to taxes etc. These businesses that you have noted some are associations!!!
Jim Griffin · April 26, 2019 at 6:03 pm
I did not know much about BDS until you raised the issue, so I researched and found this Rabbi who thinks otherwise:

I don't know what to think about BDS -- other than it is clear it our right to make our own decision about it -- but I am sure about one thing: Guilt by association makes me suspicious, worse still false implication.

What does this mean: "Ilan Omar married her brother and has made hateful remarks against Israel, and Rashida Tlaib another antisemitic." What does this sentence have to do with Guzman? Her brother certainly did not marry Ilan Omar. Indeed, Wikipedia says otherwise:

Where has Delegate Guzman herself evidenced the antisemitism you claim?

I get it: You want to flip the district. It stings to have lost it. But you should do so with facts, not falsehoods.
Jim Griffin · April 26, 2019 at 5:33 pm

You write that Guzman "gets an F for her antibusiness and antieconomic growth."

However, a quick review of campaign contributions reveals business favors her campaign over that of her opponent, who reports not even one contribution from a business.

Guzman reports sizable donations from a long list of businesses and business associations which include Amazon, Comcast, Micron, Verizon, Health Care of America, Home Builds Assn, VA Assn for Commercial Real Estate, VA Farm Bureau, VA Hospital & Health Care, VA Modular Housing, VA Sheriffs Assn, VA Cable Assn, VA Auto Dealers, VA Beer Wholesalers, VA Realtors, United Health, VA Beverage Assn, VA Wine Wholesalers and the list goes on.

Again, I cannot locate in DJ Jones' campaign reports even one contribution from a business.

Any opportunity, prior to the November election, citizens of Fauquier need to research their candidates. Please residents research Bds. Democrats intention is to go after Israel. Do not support Elizabeth Guzman. She does not have to ever support an antisemitic. Ilan Omar married her brother and has made hateful remarks against Israel, and Rashida Tlaib another antisemitic. Loudon County recently elected another delegate Samariah. Review their tweets. Elizabeth Guzman is part of the problem. It is time to support D.J. Jordan. Don't wait til November.
Jim Griffin · April 26, 2019 at 4:19 pm
I'm confused by the SFC19 comment in two ways:

1. The story is about the upcoming primary. Neither Guzman nor Jones are on a ballot in the upcoming primary.

2. Curious about the comment attributed not to Guzman but by guilt of association to someone else: He "wants people to be able to boycott Israel."

Surely we all believe it is every citizen's right to boycott, support or express themselves as they choose. The way this is written it seems you are suggesting otherwise, and yet this is a fundamental constitutional right for which we fought and died in war.

I fully respect your right, her right, his right to agree or disagree. Boycott whomever you wish -- or not -- it is your right as an American.

Neither do I think it fair to impugn her for supporting someone else of her own party -- if so, both parties are tainted beyond repair, and yet each have great Americans within their ranks who do not deserve the broad brush with which you paint.

She says she's not a socialist. Let's take her at her word, but it would be interesting to hear your POV on which of her actions have proved anti-business and anti-growth, alongside DJ's pro-growth, pro-business actions that have borne fruit.
Savefauquiercounty2019 · April 26, 2019 at 3:15 pm
Virginia elected Elizabeth Guzman a strong supporter of delegate Samariah who is a known antisemitic and wants people to be able to boycott Israel. Please review his tweets. They are alarming.

It is time to get a her well rounded candidate. His name is DJ Jordan. A graduate from Liberty University, and John Hopkins University achieved masters in Public Management. He was born and raised in Tidewater.

Virginia doesn't need another term of Elizabeth Guzman. Anyone who supports antisemitism does not support America. She needs to go. Pass this on and help get someone who cares about Virginia into office.

Elizabeth Guzman is a socialist. She gets an F for her antibusiness and antieconomic growth.
