Obituaries » Anson Bossard

Anson Bossard, 92, of Warrenton, died July 4, 2020, surrounded by family at Greenfield Reflections Senior Living in Strasburg.

Anson was born August 12, 1927, in Cortland, New York, to the late Margaretta L. Bossard and Anson C. Bossard.

He enlisted in the military and served in the United States Marine Corps until 1946.

He married Rita Mae Willoughby on August 12, 1950, in Syracuse, New York. They had two children, Beryl and Joel.

Anson in 1963 moved his family to Daytona Beach, Florida, where he worked for General Electric. He was proud to be part of the Space Race of the 1960s and enjoyed living near the ocean.

He moved to Virginia in 1972 and worked as a computer programmer for many years in the Washington, D.C., area.

Anson and Rita enjoyed being members of the Warrenton Presbyterian Church, where he worked for many years after retirement.

The family is grateful to Greenfield Reflections Senior Living for their tender care during his final years.

Anson is survived by his wife, Rita Mae Willoughby Bossard of Warrenton; his son, Joel Anson Bossard of The Plains; his daughter Beryl Ann Bossard Buice of Amherst, Wisconsin, as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
