Aubrey “Nolie” Edwards, 81, of The Plains, passed away on November 9, 2021, at Culpeper Rehabilitation Center.
Nolie was born on June 23, 1940.
He was well-known throughout the Northern Virginia area, having worked with Pepsi, Black Label Beer and the Warrenton Training Center. Nolie was the founding member of Company 10 Volunteer Fire Department in New Baltimore. He also volunteered at Company 1 in Warrenton and assisted with Company 4 in The Plains. Even after retirement, Nolie stayed busy, working at places like Royston Funeral Home in Marshall and Auto Plus Auto Parts in Warrenton.
Nolie enjoyed playing softball with friends. He was also very involved with the community, hosting car shows to raise money for different charities. He was always smiling, playing jokes, laughing, running wide open and offering help to anyone that was in need.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Noland Edwards, and three grandchildren, Colton Brooks Edwards, Jackson Gus Edwards and Emilia Harper Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 33 years, Joyce Brooks Edwards; his daughter, Carla Lee Edwards; his father, James Aubrey Edwards, and his mother, Lucille Phyllis Edwards.
Per Nolie’s wishes, a viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 14, at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 15, at Marshall Methodist Church in Marshall. He will be laid to rest at Little Georgetown Cemetery in Broad Run.
