Edward Ciba, 68, passed away at his home in Warrenton on December 13, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Edward Joseph Ciba and Stella Rutkowski Ciba.

Edward proudly served in the United States Army for 24 years as an officer in the Medical Service Corps, retiring in 1998 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He loved giving advice, collecting and running Lionel trains, farming his garden and woodworking. Edward was an avid animal lover and friend to all the neighborhood dogs who would come over for their favorite treats whenever they saw him.

Edward is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; his son, James and husband Jeffrey Cohen of Arlington; his son, Peter and wife Melissa and their children Joseph and Emily of Aldie; his mother, Stella of Totowa, N.J., and his brother, Rev. Thomas Ciba of Lake Harmony, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Joseph Ciba, and hid mother-in-law, Lee Calvelage.

The family will receive guests at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday December 20. Due to social distancing requirements, please reserve a 10-minute time slot.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, December 21, at 12:30 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in honor of Edward can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
