Frances Anne Shaffer, 69, of Culpeper, passed peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1951, at Atoka in Northern Fauquier, to the late George and Frances Embrey.
She worked as a cafeteria manager at Tyler Elementary School in Haymarket for more than 30 years. She also worked part-time at Battlefield Baptist Church for the last seven years where she was a faithful member for over 30 years.
Frances is survived by her two children, Tracy L. Pearson and her husband Chris of Culpeper, and Fred “Chip” Shaffer III of Remington; five siblings, Bobby Embrey and his wife Belva of Strasburg, Toby Embrey and his wife Karen of Marshall, Cindy Arbogast and her husband Kenny of The Plains, Debbie and Johnnie Embrey, both of Warrenton, and two grandchildren, Mikayla and Caleb Pearson.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Fred Shaffer Jr., and a brother, Rocky Embrey.
The family will accept visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, at Battlefield Baptist Church near Warrenton. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memory Gardens near Jeffersonton.
