George Truman Ward, 92, of Marshall, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 27, 2020.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, George was co-owner of Ward & Hall A.I.A. Architecture and a member of the Marshall Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of Masons and the Rotary Club. He served in the U.S. Army just after World War II ended and was stationed in Japan to help with the reconstruction.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret H. Ward.
He is survived by his four children, Carol W. Dickson of Frederick, Md., Donna L. Ward of Bethesda, Md., George T. Ward Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Marshall, and Robert S. Ward and his wife Dawne of Lorton; a brother, Richard C. Ward and wife Sally of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Danielle, Katherine, Kacie, Hunter, Ashley and Courtney, and a great-granddaughter, Blair.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 2, at the Marshall Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark D. Bryant officiating. Burial will be private in National Memorial Park Cemetery, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church.
