Gladys Maude Dick, 88, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born October 4, 1933, in Elkwood, to the late Clarence “Boston” and Erva Wines.
Gladys retired from the Fairfax Police Department, where she worked as a dispatcher. She also worked for Melpar. Gladys is a very spiritual person and worshipped at the Church of Christ in Warrenton before 20 years at Manassas Assembly of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Gladys is survived by her son, Roger Safrit; four grandchildren, Brian Joseph Safrit (Nancy), Roger Lee Safrit Jr., Rebecca Ashton Safrit (Michael) and Rose Caitlyn Safrit; eight great-grandchildren, Nicole Safrit, Jarryn Partlow, Nyla Partlow, Colt Safrit, Chase Safrit, Soraya Jolliffe, Ariella DeCosta and True DeCosta; and a sister, Joyce Wines Hardy (Mike).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dick. and three siblings, Herbert Wines (Edna), Horace Wines (Ann) and Charles Boston Wines (Shirley).
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 20, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Pastor Mike Morgan will conduct the service at 2 p.m. Friday, January 21, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Catlett United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3202 Catlett School Road.
