Renie Egan Hale, 81, died of natural causes on October 23, 2020, at Poet’s Walk in Sarasota, Florida.
She was born Renie Alice Egan on April 1, 1939, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Julia Egan.
She married the love of her life, Clarence Angus Hale, on August 24, 1957. The pair traveled and lived all over the globe. They settled in St Mary’s County, Maryland, in 1969 with their sons, where they built a couple of homes on the Potomac River. Their family and friends have fond memories of time spent poolside and fishing at their waterfront estate and sailing aboard The Bridgeman. Renie worked as an office manager for Babcock and Wilcox, a builder of power plants across the country, until her retirement in 1995. Renie and Clarence relocated to Florida in 2007. When they weren’t entertaining friends and family at home or playing golf, they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome.
Renie enjoyed architecture and interior design, fine art, gardening, sailing and golf. She was a talented poet; her family is blessed to have her poetry to read and pass on to future generations. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her granddaughters.
Renie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clarence; her son John; her brother David, and their parents.
Renie is survived by a son, Mark Hale (Michelle) of Warrenton; a brother, John Egan (Susan) of Virginia Beach, and her granddaughters, Julia Hale of Fairfax and Sara Hale of Warrenton.
A private graveside service will be held for family due to the pandemic.
