So, who is one to believe and trust...scientific/medical experts OR our "stable genius president"? If you answered the latter, you might as well inject some disinfectant and push a UV light into an orifice. C'mon people, THINK!

Silii and Jerome need to go learn what Socialism is. Confusing social welfare programs and government bailouts with Socialism is just ignorant.

Not only no, but hell no. If this were real, there would be no need to fluff up the numbers of deaths.

We have massive socialism in the US and not for the common folk. Look at the billions in government handouts to farmers since Trump took office. Look at the handouts under CARES that went to large companies and corporations. Yep. Take everyone's tax money and pass it out for free to corporate farms and corporations. The wealthy are getting the money from the middle and lower classes and the wealthy are winning under Trump.

MrsSilence - "The biggest threat to black people today is the white liberal democrat." I thought it was Hypertension, Diabetes, and Heart Disease.

Why should someone in Florida pay for failed crops in South Dakota, or floods, or tornadoes by the same token?

You and I both know that many people do not or can not save money for the future. Without SS they would be a lot more people, older people, below the poverty level, to some it's all they have, and once they go into a nursing home even that (all but $50) is taken away and used to pay the bill. It would be wonderful if people would save, even $10 a week, but the odds are against that happening.

Boy, you are going to have some farmers fired up when they see you called them SOCIALISTS. Their heads would blow off in the MidWest! Farmers are owned by big corporations now, Monsanto, Cargill, etc.

Socialism is slavery because freedom to thrive is stripped when you take away incentive to create. Bigger government = less freedom. Slavery. The government might not put a real yoke on your neck, but they will kill ambition, drive, and responsibility. Slavery. Farmers used to be democrats - but not anymore. Socialists want a big ole government to take care of their every little whimper...

Social security - invented by democrat Roosevelt. Should have never been done. It should be none of the government's business how much money you make... zero. If you want to save money as you grow older, then save money as you grow older and stop depending on the government to do it for you.

Disaster relief - hmmm. Point to ponder for sure. But in the meantime, is it right for someone living in South Dakota to pay for those dummies that build their houses on the sand in Florida?

Slaves were owned by democrats and emancipated by a republican. In fact, Jerome, the Republican Party was formed by anti-slavery whigs. The biggest threat to black people today is the white liberal democrat. Enslaved them once and now keeping them there.

Socialism is slavery? What about those people getting their Social Security check every month, or bailouts to the farmers, or disaster relief? Those are all socialist actions.

All those slaves back in the day were socialists and socialism was forced on them by their owners? That's a new one!

Which 1%? If that means the top 1%, I'm far from being in that group and I would choose capitalism over socialism because socialism is slavery.

MrsSilenceDoGood - Whatever keeps your boat afloat.

Capitalism is only for the 1% didn't you hear? The rest of us are just serfs under a feudal system.

We may end up with more death due to all the shut-downs, plus the death of capitalism. I prefer dangerous freedom over safe tyranny.

At my federal job, we had a cleaner who tested positive for Covid 19 the week after working in our building and near me, we both had masks and she also wore gloves, not one of the 100 employees at our building became infected, perhaps timing but I'm glad we both had our masks on. I used to wear body armor for protection, now the mask is there to protect me......

There have been some absurd polls posted on here. But come on... This is asinine.

The efficacy of these measures has been proven as a matter of fact. What lay people "think" about their effectiveness is a pointless question.

The cost/benefit calculus of imposing these requirements is a different question and one that could actually be a matter of opinion.

I get that the purpose of these polls is to drive views and engagement, and sell ads, but sheesh.

You folks that voted "NO" good luck with staying healthy until or if a vaccine is created. I mean that, I don't want anyone to die from this, or have to get the hospital bill for 2-3 weeks in ICU (that will alone give you a heart attack at the going rate of over $800,000).
