Our biggest issue would be no electricity for the Sump Pump, even though we have a back-up battery it won't last forever, if there were a lot of melt off once the cold temps had passed. It would be bailing time.

Glad we have a well (with manual hand pump if needed) and 2 fireplaces. Had our whole house Tyvexed and put on insulated siding last year. Lots of coolers for food storage if need be. An outdoor grill with a burner run on propane for cooking. Lots of blankets. Have a solar/crank radio to charge cell phones. Candles, oil lamps, and flashlights for light. Always keep at least 8 gallons of drinking water handy and fill the bathtubs for flushing if we know there might be a power outage.

Best of all, great neighbors that come together when times get rough and pool resources.
