Do you agree with recommendation to take down Confederate President Davis’ statue in Richmond?

The Times-Dispatch reported: “Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney's Monument Avenue Commission recommended the removal of the Jefferson Davis Monument from Monument Avenue and the addition of signage to the other four statues honoring the Confederacy, according to a report released Monday.”

To have history escape and allow a narcissisits view of few that view this as something they think is wrong, is unreal. The way this country has evolved which has givin freedom an opportunity is what attracts many people to want to live here. Our founding leaders and brave serviceman and women who fought and still fight and promote what's right, should continue to be honored for what they've accomplished. No one is perfect and shouldn't be treated that way. If no one likes the history and the honors givin out to those who have accomplished bringing what we've been givin, they should consider other options like another country that suits them. If what happens with the removal of our honored statues happens, is and will be considered ludicrous amongst MANY. Unbalanced and unsecured minded others obviously will think otherwise.

To create something they call a “Narcissism Index,” the researchers compared the estimations by home state residents to how other people around the country ranked a state. Virginia and Delaware led the nation with the highest levels of collective narcissism, according to their index. New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia and New Jersey followed close behind. That explains why Virginians are so uppity!

Removing any monuments erases American history and oversimplifies it for students. Targeting Confederate monuments does not help people understand that racial views were generally universal. Except for a very few men, Union officers and enlisted men held the same or more racist views than their southern counterparts. Fighting for Union did not mean fighting for equality.

Thomas Ritchie and Scott Bell - I would love a statue of myself, and I want it to say, "Yes, it’s Superman, strange visitor from another planet who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of immoral men such as Trump. And who, disguised as Brian Johnson, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper, fights a never ending battle for truth, justice and the American way.
