Should the federal government extend enhanced unemployment benefits of up to $600 a week?

Congress and the president in March approved the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, which will expire July 31, to supplement state jobless benefits. Federal officials continue to debate whether to extend and/or modify the enhanced benefits. About 18 million people nationwide continue to receive unemployment insurance, with the jobless rate at 11 percent.

When the evictions start that $600 will amount to a hill of beans.

There are people taking advantage of this, which is not helping. It is a matter of do I go back to work and take a chance on getting sick, or stay home until I can no longer pay my rent or mortgage, either way it doesn't look good.

AmericanPatriot - $600 per day? The people in Congress make that and more already, and paid for by the American taxpayer, let's ask them how it's working.
