On Friday, October 30th, the 5th Annual Willing Warriors Gala will be an interactive, fun, festive virtual event in support of our Nation’s wounded warriors from the comfort of your home. The Gala will honor all who have faithfully served our country with their sacrifices. Many will have an opportunity to engage, connect, and support our Willing Warriors’ health and well-being.
Willing Warriors is pleased to announce General (Ret.) Arnold Fields as the honored keynote speaker for this exciting evening. General Fields is a dynamic, authentic, and engaging experiential keynote speaker who is a master storyteller. He is retired from the United States Marine Corps after over 34 years of active military service. At the time of his retirement, General Fields served as the Deputy Commander of Marine Corps Forces in Europe, headquartered at Stuttgart, Germany.
For the evening, the host is Jonathan Elias, an award-winning journalist and news anchor at WJLA-TV ABC7 News. The event includes an online auction, entertainment by “America’s Got Talent” winners – Voices of Services and 9-year-old Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja; a Purple Heart recipient, Sgt. Zack Herrick and a beautiful fashion show.
All proceeds from the 5th Annual Gala will go directly to Willing Warriors, which provides cost-free retreat stays and non-medical services that positively affect the recovery of wounded, ill, or injured service members. The Lang House and the PenFed House is where over 1300 warriors and their families stay during their visit at no expense to them.
Willing Warriors opened July 4th, 2015, as a volunteer and community-supported 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. Willing Warriors provides encouragement and non-medical programs that positively affect the well-being, and lives of military service members who are wounded, recovering or recovered from service-related injuries.
The Willing Warriors’ headquarter is located at the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run in Haymarket, Virginia. The Retreat offers a six-day respite stay during which warriors and their families can temporarily escape hospital settings and day-to-day demands to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with each other. The Retreat features two ADA accessible homes on 37-acres in the shadow of the historic Bull Run Mountains.
