Friday July 22, 6:30 p.m., Great Meadow, 5089 Old Tavern Road, The Plains
Plan on heading over to Great Meadow on Friday evening for Twilight Jumpers, presented by the High Performance Equestrian Foundation. Show jumping is one of the most exciting competitive equestrian sports for spectators. It is designed to be a test of horse and rider both, requiring extreme amounts of athleticism and precision. Watch the horse and riders navigate a course of 10-15 fences, some of them looking impossibly high, within the optimum time and without refusing a fence or dropping any rails. Bring a cooler and blanket, and enjoy barbecue from an on-site vendor, and finish the evening dancing under the pavilion at the conclusion of the Mini Prix.
