Dianne C. Hertneky

Dianne C. Hertneky, 65 of Marshall, died at her home on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

She was born May 21, 1949, in New Jersey, to the late William and Eleanor Atwater Cool.

Ms. Hertneky was hardworking and studious throughout her life, graduating first in her class in high school and in college. She also graduated Beta Gamma Sigma in her MBA program at Vanderbilt University. She was a ground breaking woman, owning and running a construction company and an insulation company. She excelled in her next profession in law firm management, as a CFO at one firm and a chief operating officer at a well-respected Boston-based, international firm.

Ms. Hertneky's first passion was she loved her family. She would do anything for or go anyplace to support all her family members. She often put together family events or vacations for the extended family. Her second passion was travel. She traveled extensively across the globe and combined her love of family by traveling with family members. In particular she enjoyed traveling with her mother and mother-in-law. She loved her work and pursued it with passion, always looking for ways to improve not just the firm but individuals within it. She loved mentoring and helping younger members grow and thrive.

Ms. Hertneky greatly enjoyed sports, going to many professional sports events. She liked to golf, ski and hike. She was a skilled decorator and much enjoyed the process of enhancing homes she built or lived in. Most of all, she turned these houses into homes where she welcomed all with her hospitality and kindness.

Survivors include her husband Andrew; her son, Jeff Seigler; her grandchildren Adam Seigler, Owen Seigler, Claire Seigler and Luke Seigler; her in-laws Marie and Richard Byrne, Andrea and Bill Weber, Joel and Donna Hertneky, Dorothy and Pat Woodham, Rosalie Cool and Sue Hertneky, and her nieces and nephews Bryan, Alison, Michael, Jeremy, Peter, Mathew, Lyndsey, Jonathan, Brian, Colin, Paige, Cassidy and Payton.
