Thomas F. Ryder, 70, of Midland, died on Nov. 18, 2011, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
He was born on April 16, 1941, at Bethel, a son of the late Pearlie and Warren Ryder.
Mr. Ryder retired after 32- years of service as an employee of R. L. Rider & Co. in Warrenton.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Miller Ryder; six children, Kevin Ryder, Lynn Fletcher, Jackie Cleveland, Scott Ryder, Michael Ryder and Miracle Jean Ryder; two brothers, William Ryder and Wesley Ryder; two sisters, Elizabeth Kerns and Ethel Kennedy; 10 grandchildren, Kert Ryder, Keifer Broyles, Jennifer Fletcher, Tracey Fletcher, Megan Fletcher, John Cleveland, Joshua Cleveland, Justin Cleveland, Davis Ryder and Katelyn Ryder.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, which will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Grace United Methodist Church near Hartwood. Pastors Brenda Pusso and Hank McCaslin will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
