Warren Lee Birckhead, 73, of Warrenton, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning November 26, 2022. He passed peacefully with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his side. Lee Birckhead is survived by his wife, Hazel Rose Birckhead, daughter, Tammy Lasher, and two sons, Eddie Birckhead and Warren (Arren) Birckhead. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Austin, Ryan, Brennan, Grace, Caroline, and Edward of Warrenton, VA.  He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Birckhead and sisters Judy McDaniel and Peggy Johnson of Charlottesville, VA. 

Lee Birckhead attended and graduated in 1967 from Rock Hill Academy in Charlottesville. After graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps in 1967 where he served and was stationed in Memphis, Tennessee, San Francisco, California, and Iwakuni, Japan. Lee specialized and served in Aviation Fire and Rescue Management during his Marine Corp career. He achieved the rank of E-5 Sergeant during his service. At the conclusion of his service, he trained and completed emergency 911 classes both as a Paramedic and Firefighter for Arlington County, VA. Lee retired from Arlington County after many years of service. While working as a paramedic with Arlington Fire Department, he started Lee B Enterprises which included class A contracting, building homes, and commercial structures.

Lee enjoyed spending time with friends and family, socializing, cooking, and catering. He was always on a quest for a new, delicious recipe. He enjoyed hunting with friends in Madison County, fishing, riding his Harley, and working with his hands. Lee took great pride in using his creativity to make things more efficient. 

Lee leaves behind a rich legacy through the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and his service to his country, community, and family. He will be forever missed but always remain in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, VA from 9:15 AM until 9:55 AM. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM. Following the memorial service, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company, 167 W. Shirley Avenue, Warrenton, VA.
